My intention has been to create an ergonomic and iconic stacking chair, based on the concept of a strong chair frame. The frame should serve as the foundation for any TEA chair and can be "dressed" in different ways depending on the occasion. My design offers backrests of varying heights, a lower backrest with or without armrests, and finally a seat made of plywood or alternatively elastic webbing for extra comfort. The idea is to offer the UW-resistant webbing as an alternative to foam-based upholstery, and to make the end of life circle of the chair easy and to maintain a design that is simple in both production and expression, yet with a warm, homely personality.
