The design of the Huddle table is the result of a dynamic dialogue between the two designers and the drawing board, with a strong focus on reducing the material usage. Central to the process has been selecting the right materials and designing with repairability and disassembly in mind.
The table features a base made from 100% recycled and recyclable aluminum and a recyclable tabletop made from reclaimed textile waste. Vilde and Julie meticulously examined every design decision to minimize the use of resources without compromising strength or aesthetics. Their focus on designing for repairability and disassembly allows the table to be flat-packed for easy transportation, further lowering its environmental impact.
Drawing inspiration from children’s play tables, the Huddle table encourages collaboration in workspaces, supporting agile work environments while breaking down hierarchical barriers. With its 100 cm in height it motivates people to stand and move around while working, accommodating healthy ergonomics and creative agile processes.
