With the project Another Chair, I want to signal care, presence and quality. As a hope and a call to my surroundings and myself to make an effort when we borrow from nature's wonderful but scarce resources.
Another Chair focuses on quality and aesthetic simplification in wood. Another Chair is intended as a chair that can stand alone as well as in a group. It is designed from 5 parts in wood, which helps to give the chair an easy-to-read silhouette.
The seat is carried by curved legs, which draw their inspiration from the curved ceilings of the Grundtvig Church in Denmark. The idea arose based on a wonder at how the arches can be constructed so that they can hold a human body rather than a church ceiling. A curved cut in the back of the chair provides comfort with minimal body contact.
The chair can be stacked. It is designed and constructed based on a circular way of thinking where 4 visible bolt screws assemble the chair and make it easy to disassemble to reuse or replace individual parts and allows the chair to be packed flat for transportation.
